Before using the cluster you must create a username and password.
HURCS users that had, at one point, a username for the Computer Science and Engineering (CS/CSE) systems can still use it, but it has most likely been deactivated at some point. To reactivate your account just fill out the regular ‘Add User Account’ form.
The username cannot be changed after it has been created.
We use Two Factor Authentication (2FA) to login to the cluster.
This means you have to enter two passwords to login to the cluster.
First password is an OTP (One Time Password) and second is the Unix password you just created for yourself.
See this wiki page on how to configure and get the OTP for the cluster.
NOTE: if you don't receive an SMS with your OTP, try repeating the process in incognito mode (or private mode if you're using firefox).
You can change your password from terminal after you login, or in the registrar web site.
Once in a terminal session connected to the HURCS network, use the command:passwd
After that follow instructions in the terminal - enter the current password and then the new password.
